The distinctive Bedtime Story signature tune was first heard on Czech Television over 50 years ago, making it one of the oldest TV trailers in the world. This beloved children’s bedtime series aired in 1965 and has continued to have a strong impact. Since its inception it has strived to refine viewers’ artistic instincts thanks to the production team of visual artists. The engaging and unique stories have long nurtured children’s fantasy, and until recently provided work for numerous professionals with Czech animation experience.

Fest Anča will map the history of Bedtime Story from the 1960s. But let’s go back even further to Silver Mirror bedtime fairy tales that often featured actors rather than animations. Our first two sections will showcase the first technicolour episodes that became cult classics and are frequently rescreened today. Classic episodes include Rumcajs, the Robber and Fairy Tales from Moss and Fern. We will start from the beginning and include lesser-known episodes.
