Where Does Fest Anča Take Place?
The festival will also take place at Stanica Žilina-Záriečie Cultural Centre, situated at 3 Závodská Cesta, Žilina.
Among Fest Anča’s screening places, there is also the Žilina Puppet Theatre, situated at 6 Kuzmányho Street. The evening screenings, concerts and parties will be happening at Smer Klub 77, a night club located at 8 Romuald Zaymus street – 7 minute walk from New Syangogue.
What Languages do we Speak?
Most films are screened either in English original version or with English subtitles. Presentations and masterclasses are conducted in English.
What Are the Accommodation Possibilities ?
Due to the unfortunate fire at Stanica Žilina-Záriečie, a part of festival facilities is not available this year – among them the festival campsite that was usually available for visitors. Due to capacity issues, accommodation at the Sokolovňa gymnasium is also not available. If we are able to arrange for additional low-cost accommodation capacities, we will keep you informed.
More information on accommodation in Žilina can be found at the websites of Hliny Dormitory, Hotel Slovakia, Hotel Slovan or Hotel Dubná Skala and campsite Slnečné skaly. (The camp is connected to Žilina main train station and Stanica Žilina-Záriečie by train. Last trains leave Žilina at approximately 7pm and taxis are available at night for cca 10 euros one way.)
The baggage deposit that was available at Stanica Žilina-Záriečie during previous years of the festival will, unfortunately, not be available this year.
Where to eat and drink?
At Stanica and Synagogue, you will find a bar with a wide offer of soft drinks and spirits. There are also food stands with vegan, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food near the Synagogue and Puppet Theatre. We recommend visiting some of the bistros and restaurants in the city center this year, as they are very close to the main venue – the Synagogue!
