Fest Anča International Animation Festival – the only Academy Awards® Qualifying Festival in Slovakia – has just opened its 2026 call for entries. Registration remains open until January 31, 2026.
Only short animated films and music videos – completed after January 1, 2024 and submitted with English subtitles – are accepted into the Festival’s competition program.
This year’s call for entries is open via FilmFreeway.com. The submission process is open from 31st October 2025 to 31st January 2026 and will take place in three phases. Earlybird submission is free until 30th November 2025. Submissions registered during the period between 1st December and 31st December 2025 will be subject to a registration fee of EUR 5 per film. Submissions registered during the period between 1st January and 31st January 2026 (Late Deadline) will be subject to a registration fee of EUR 10 per film.

At Fest Anča 2026 you can compete for Anča Awards in the following categories:
- Best Animated Short (€1500)
- Best Student Animated Short (€1000)
- Best Animated Music Video (€1000)
- Best Animated Short for Children (€1000)
- Best Slovak Animated Short (€1500)
